Casino Club - rules and how to play Roulette

The origin of Roulette lies in 17th century France. The wheel was invented from the French mathematician Blaise Pascal, who used it as a part of his experiments. The design was used for the game to emerge and the name Roulette literally means “small wheel” in French. In the middle of the 18th century, the Blanc brothers improved the design and added the zero pocket to the wheel. The later opened casinos in Monte Carlo embraced the game as it became an important part of them. Roulette was then brought to the USA in the 19th century, where the double zero pocket was added. Roulette is a very popular game, both in casinos and online. So it's no surprise that there are several different variations of roulette for you to choose from. All of them follow the same basic rules, and all of them are played similarly, but there are certain differences that you should understand before you play any type of roulette. Below are descriptions of each variation that you can find online.

American Roulette

American roulette is by far the most commonly found roulette variation. American roulette wheels have both a single and double zero slot, meaning there is a larger house advantage. In fact, American roulette has one of the best house edges of any casino game. The typical house advantage for American roulette is 5.26%. So, just because it's the most popular doesn't necessarily mean it's the best choice for you.

French Roulette

French roulette is what you might call the "original". In fact, "roulette" means "little wheel" in French. However, just because it's the original doesn't mean it's the most popular. In fact, it's just the opposite. Because French roulette offers good odds and a relatively low house advantage, many online casinos prefer not to offer it, as they make less money from it. French roulette is very similar to European roulette, as it also has no double zero slot. The odds are pretty much the same, but the house edge is slightly lower. This is because of the La Partage rule, which states that a player will only lose 50% of their even-money bets when the wheel stops on 0. This makes French roulette very attractive to avid roulette players, but not very popular among online casinos due to the lower house edge. Sometimes French tables are laid out a little differently, but not always. Besides that, French roulette is very similar to European and American. French roulette also introduces a new type of betting; call bets. These bets may seem like randomly grouped numbers to the novice player, but they are based on the positions of the numbers on the table. For instance, a Voisins du Zero (neighbors of zero) bet would be a bet on 0, 2, 3, 4, 7, 12, 15, 18, 19, 21, 22, 25, 26, 28, 29, 32, and 35, the 17 numbers that surround the 0 on a French roulette table. There are 4 additional call bets, each with its own set of numbers. They may seem confusing, but when you're actually looking at a table it all makes much more sense. And, there's no real need to memorize the names or number combinations of these bets, as there is almost always explanations to go along with each bet. Generally there will be some sort of drop-down menu under a "Call Bet" button, and when you select one of the bets, you will be given an explanation of that bet.
