The Baccarat table is usually in a separate section of the casino. The table itself has the shape of a long hour-glass. The middle area is where the caller and 2 dealers are situated. The responsibility of each dealer is to manage the bets of his side of the table, while the caller directs the gameplay. There are up to 14 seats for the players, although the numbered positions on the table are from 1 to 15, with 13 being omitted as it is considered to be unlucky. In front of each player is the area for placing bets, consisted of three betting options: “Players”, “Bankers” and “Tie”. The won and lost bets are handled by the dealers, who also keep track of the commission owed by the each player to the house, using an area, at the center of the table, intended for that purpose. The basic principle of the game is to have a pip count of 9 or lower. Usually, each player takes a turn in dealing the cards, but in some casinos there is an assigned card dealer. The game can be played with six to eight decks of cards, which are placed in a box that is called a “shoe”.

The players first make their bets and then the banker deals one card face down to the caller, one card face down to himself and one more to each. The caller passes his hand to the better with the highest bet on Punto, who takes the role of “player”. If there haven’t been any bets on “player”, this role is taken by the caller. After the dealing is done, the cards are revealed starting with the player and then the banker. In cases of the pip count of either hand being 8 or 9, no more cards are dealt and the hand is called a “natural”, winning the game immediately. If none of the hands is a natural, a third card might be dealt, which is done according to certain rules.

Strategy for Baccarat

Contrary to a blackjack game, baccarat game is a game of chance and luck. If you think, by studying patterns you have been able to tame this game, think twice. Surveys show that by the time you have really identified a pattern where you can win a game, the winning blueprint changes and you are left in the lurch.

Baccarat Game The basic idea in this game is to secure two cards with a point value of 9 units. Point value is calculated mathematically. For instance, ace would have a value of one point while kings, queens, and jacks would have zero points. The player with the highest number of points wins the game. The ground reality is that baccarat game can have predictable long-term results. But, it is not possible to predict who would win the very next game even if the banker won the last ten games. The probability would be only 50-50 chance for any player to win the game. At times, it might be possible that you have been able to hit a jackpot. So, another prudent advice would be to leave the game while you are still winning. A time would soon come that you would be losing all points you have earned so far.

Using the Minimum Number of Decks Although a game of chance, you can still maximize the returns when playing baccarat game. For instance, play with single decks and bet on dealer's hands as these offer minimum house edge - say about one percent. A normal baccarat game would involve about eight decks. There are however, some casinos which provide fewer decks to play. You need to search for such casinos and play the least number of decks to win the game.

Playing the Best Bet How about a tie bet to maximize your profit? It is often said that tie bets have more pay outs than banker's bet or player's bet. However, it is not prudent to play this bet. Though it may seem enticing, just stay away from it. The house edge for this bet is over 5 percent. As a result, players would generally be losers than earners with tie-bet. It does not yield profit to the player. It is the casino that takes the share of the booty. So, what is the best option to win a game of baccarat? Banker's bet would be a better choice to play if you see it theoretically. But practically, it is useful to play all bets judiciously. Banker's bet has a small house edge. In the long run, the house would win the game. Why give up this opportunity to the house? Why not become a more proactive player and a risk-taker, to win games in the long run. Some players opt for player bets. Here, the house edge is about 1.3 percent. This percentage is also quite low. Moreover, this bet does not have any commission - unlike banker's bet - that is required to be given to the casino. As a result, this bet is popular. But, if you are looking for better odds, it is useful to play banker's bet as well.
